"If you can imagine it, you can create it!'
Last Term a few students saw nano tape activities on You Tube and requested that they would like to do this in Cre8tion Hub. So for the first 2 weeks of this term we followed through on this student request. We had so many students turn up he first week we had to set up a sign up sheet for the second week. One of the things we learnt from this activity was that crafts can have the appearance of looking easy to do on You Tube but in reality are not. It was a learning experience. Nevertheless students enjoyed making nano craft items.
This week we will continue with nano tape activities giving students who missed out last week a chance to come and have a go.
I had a conversation with our teacher-librarian about connecting some of our Cre8tion Hub activities with literature especially with the lead up to Book Week. What better way to start than with Yuval Zommer's book The Big Book of Beasts. We gave the students a big box of wooden off-cuts and encouraged them to let their imagination go wild.
Students are continuing with their block beasts from last week.
Book Week has arrived and we have a growing activity for the children.
Continued Book Week activities week 6 & 7 for students to enjoy, creating doors to other worlds or stories. This one will require all their imagining skills, planning and plenty of materials.
This week students will be designing their own game boards either from scratch or templates for those who feel a little intimated imagining their own board game. The options will give students free range to imagine within their individual capacities.
No Cre8ation Hub this session.
Students will be presented with self directive origami. The purpose of this activity is to encourage students to follow the simple instructions for easy to fold origami without assistance. They will be offered a variety of options to fold.
This week as a very gentle link to Halloween students will be making monster tissue boxes.
Students are continuing on with their monster tissue boxes from week 4.
Picasso mania. This week we will be working on crazy collage faces Picasso-style. It's been quite a while since students have been able to use paints so we are sure they will enjoy the colour splash and the creativity of this project.
We will continue to work on our Picasso collage faces for this week. There are some very artistic designs in progress.
